  • Manage who has access to your properties on Facebook.
  • Give people access to your property on Facebook without being friends with them on Facebook.

A common scenario is that business owners want to take the next step in their advertising on Facebook that after having announced sporadically.This can be done without creating a Business Manager account. However, when you expand the resources of your advertising on Facebook with more involving people it is good to make use of a Business Manager account. To create a Business Manager account, you need:

  • A personal Facebook account, to identify you as a user.
  • A Facebook advertising account, to advertise on Facebook.
  • A Facebook page (if you have not, create one before you start).
  • (Optional) E-mail addresses of the people you want to delegate access.

Create a Facebook Business Manager account

  • Visit business.facebook.com
  • Top of page, click on “Create Account” (you need to be logged in to Facebook to continue).
  • In a pop-up window, you create the account in two stages:
  1. Name of your Business Manager account
  2. Your name, surname and email address (the same one used for your Facebook page).

Adding the Facebook page of Business Manager

  • In the left corner, there is a burger menu, select “Preferences Business Manager” (the arrow of “all tools” to see the full menu).
  • To the left you will find various icons in a menu, to add pages, select the flag icon.
  • In the right corner, click “Add new page”. You will then have three choices: “Claim a page”, “Request access to a page” or “Create a new page”. Select “Claim a page” to link your page to your Business Manager account. (Your page will automatically appear when you are logged in with the same email address as your Facebook page).

Adding people to Business Manager

  • In the left corner there is a burger menu, select “Preferences Business Manager”.
  • To add individuals, select the profile icon.
  • In the right corner, click “Add new people.”
  • A pop-up window asking you to follow the instructions in five steps:
  1. Mail addresses of the people you want to add.
  2. Facebook Pages to be given access to the people.
  3. Advertisement Accounts to be given access to the people .
  4. Catalogues (DPA), you have product catalogs for the DPA advertisement can be selected for this.
  5. Confirmation of the invitation.
  • You can edit persons’ eligibility and availability of your properties by clicking on their name in the list of people with access.

  • To add advertising account, select Dollars icon.

  • Select “Claim the advertising account” if you previously advertised on Facebook and want to tie this ad account to your Business Manager. (Your advertising account will automatically appear when you are logged in with the same email address as your Facebook page)
  • A pop-up window will ask you to fill in your Ad Account ID and select “Claim to an advertising account.”

Create a Facebook advertising account (Ads Manager) in Business Manager

  • In the left corner there is a burger menu, select “Preferences Business Manager”.
  • To add advertising account, select Dollars icon.
  • In the right corner, click “Add new ad account.” You will then have three choices: “To claim an advertising account,” “Request access to an advertising account” or “Create a new ad account.”
  • Select “Create a new ad Account” if you have previously not advertised on Facebook.
  • A pop-up window asking you to fill in the name of advertising account, Facebook page, time zone, currency and payment method.(Payment method can be specified at a later stage of your advertising account and can also be changed later).

Remember: You can not change these settings later without closing your advertising account and then create a new one when changing the name of the ad account, Facebook page, time zone and currency.
