Devotion: I Cry Out
I’ve been going through a really rough patch of life over the course of the past three years. It feels as soon as we are over one hurdle there’s just something else. I’m so tired of trying to juggle everything by myself – kids’ schedules, late nights at a job that is taking me to the edge of depression, baby who wakes at night, and the sole provider for my family where it feels like we are barely surviving. Psalm 31:10 sums up how I feel right now, “For my life hath been consumed in sorrow And my years in sighing. Feeble because of mine iniquity hath been my strength, And my bones have become old.”
Many times I find I don’t have the words for prayer or strength to ask for help. Yet I find as I sit quietly my mind sings to God. Can He hear the cry of my heart? Today my song is a psalm to God asking for His mercy and love. I know He is a good Father! I’m filled with hope of His promise. He’s just waiting for me to come to Him so that he can rescue and strengthen me. He will get me through this – He promises. “Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall” - Psalm 55:22
I Cry Out – by Craig Musseau
Verse:
I cry out
for your hand of mercy to heal me,
for I am weak,
and I need your love to free me.
Oh Lord, my Rock,
my strength in weakness,
come rescue me oh Lord.
Bridge:
You are my hope, and your promise never fails me,
And my desire is to follow you forever.
Chorus:
For you are good, for you are good,
For you are good to me.
For you are good, for you are good,
For you are good to me.
